MEDIA RELEASE March 24, 2020

Powell River, B.C. – As of this morning, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Powell River RCMP has closed front door access to the detachment to prevent any potential spread of the virus. Anyone wanting to contact the detachment can do so by calling the non-emergency line at (604) 485-6255 or in an emergency by dialling 9-1-1.

RCMP will continue to provide policing services to the community and will respond to all emergency calls and crimes in progress. Non-emergency calls will be followed up with via a phone call.

The RCMP wishes to thank the community for its patience and support during these trying times. Operations will revert to normal as soon as it is safe to do so.
