Message from Tla’amin Executive Council and Health Director

Cabins at Harwood and Theodosia Closed to Public

(April 16, 2021)

Tla’amin Nation continues to report two (2) active Covid positive cases in community.

Please contact Tla’amin Health if you would like information on our vaccination program.

A Message from Dr. Bonnie Henry on the risk of being outside:
“Whether you are at work, running errands or outside – someone may have COVID-19. That is why staying small and staying local is key right now. Making the effort to have less contact with people outside our household will put us back on the path where we want and need to be. It is a small effort that has a big result.”

As families consider safe recreational outdoor activities heading into this sunny weekend, Executive Council has closed the cabins at Harwood and Theodosia. “We cannot afford to put our families at risk by allowing them to book their overnight stay at our nations’ cabins, without Covid safety protocols in place. This could have serious repercussions, explained Hegus, John Hackett.

The curfew is still in effect from 9:00 pm – 6:00 am. Only people that need to go to work or obtain medical attention or supplies will be permitted to leave their property during these hours. The community remains closed to visitors, with the exception of couriers, mail, designated contactors for home repairs, and food deliveries from grocery stores or restaurants. Executive Council and Health encourages our families to play safe this weekend.

Please continue to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms if you have been instructed to do so. If you, or anyone you know, is experiencing Covid symptoms such as fever, cough, fatigue, muscle pain, lack of appetite, loss of sense of taste or smell – you need to be tested! You can be tested in two locations:
