Message from Tla’amin Executive Council and Health Director
(April 20, 2021)
Tla’amin Nation reports that the total remains at one (1) active COVID-19 case in community with several members continuing to isolate. Following restrictions regarding limited gatherings, wearing a mask, and social distancing is working. Please be kind to one another and remain vigilant as we continue to move forward and protect our nation from this third wave.
Provincial Health Orders have now been extended until May 25th. As a self-governing nation, Executive Council issued additional safety directives to reduce the spread of Covid-19. We appreciate your continued efforts.
Gentle Reminders of Tla’amin Nation leadership directives:
1. The curfew is still in effect from 9:00 pm – 6:00 am. Only people that need to go to work, or obtain medical attention or related supplies will be permitted to leave their property during these hours.
2. The community is closed to visitors. If your address is not a permanent Nation address, you should not be in Tla’amin until further notice. The exceptions are couriers, mail, designated contractors for home repairs, and food deliveries from grocery stores or restaurants.
3. Backyard fires are prohibited to protect health risks of family members that are vulnerable.
4. Cabins at Harwood Island and Theodosia are closed.
5. Gathering at our waterfront gazebo, hockey court, 3 playgrounds, and 2 soccer fields is prohibited.
6. Support Services: For those in isolation requiring resources, including clinical and/or mental health and wellness needs can call: 604-578-0447.
