Message from Tla’amin Executive Council and Health Director

(April 26, 2021)

Tla’amin Nation remains closed to anyone who does not work or live in the community.

In response to the Travel Restrictions Order, our community’s safety is dependent on not putting others at risk by travelling unnecessarily. Do not travel for non-essential reasons. Please recognize that negligent actions have devastating consequences for the health and safety of our small community.

Dr. Bonnie Henry stated “Do not travel beyond your community remains in place everywhere in BC, but we need to do more to discourage travel. The travel restrictions order has been enacted to restrict non-essential travel outside of neighboring health authorities until May 25, 2021 at midnight. Those in violation of the Order may be subject to a $575 fine.

Please be kind to one another and remain vigilant as we continue to safeguard our nation from this third wave of Covid-19, with additional variants. Continue to practice physical distancing while you are outside, wear your mask, and continue to remain within your household bubble of family your reside with. Don’t forget to wash and sanitize your hands frequently.
