Tla’amin Government Demonstrates Early Prevention Measures for our Families

(April 5, 2021)
As of today, there remains 1 lab confirmed COVID-19 case in our community. We remind our members/citizens that receiving our first vaccine does not mean that we can disregard restrictions put forward by the Provincial Health Officer. “Socializing inside, whether it’s in your own home, or outside of your household is not what we need to have happen right now.”

Tla’amin Nation leadership met today and issued the following directives:
1. Office Closures are in effect for this business week. This includes the Governance House, Ahms’Taow, CDRC, Chi Chuy, Tla’amin Management Services, and the Salish Center.
2. Patrols in our community are in effect until further notice. This is to ensure the safety of our community and remind outside visitors of our restrictions.
3. Spring Clean up will proceed as scheduled from April 12th – 16th in Tla’amin. April 19th- 23rd in Klahanie.
4. Garbage pick up will continue on Fridays and the garbage bins will continue to remain open.
5. Winmar indoor restoration work is postponed this week. Outside work will continue.
6. IF YOU HAVE BEEN REQUIRED TO SELF-ISOLATE and require essential service such as food or medical supplies please call the emergency line at 604-578-0447.
7. Tla’amin Eatery will be closed this week.
8. Playgrounds and soccer fields will be closed until further notice.

If you feel symptoms, please report to the Powell River General Hospital emergency department for testing. Be sure to call ahead to let them know you’re coming.

The Covid-19 testing site at the Westview Clinic is open weekdays. Please call between 9:00am-11:00am to book an appointment. Call 604-485-3572.

We will continue to provide you with regular updates via Facebook and the Tla’amin Nation website. If you have questions or need help you can call the Tla’amin Emergency line at 604.578.0447
