Tla’amin Community Deer Procurement Program
September 25th, 2026
Tla’amin Nation is launching a program to help secure deer for our community freezer and community use. The deer harvested through this program will also provide opportunities for training, knowledge sharing and capacity building within our community, helping to strengthen our ability to harvest, process and share traditional foods.
Tla’amin Citizens who are interested in participating are invited to register.
Pre-registration is required before participating in the program.
Who Can Participate?
Hunters must:
- Be a Tla’amin Citizen
- Hold a valid Canadian Firearms License (PAL)
- Hunt within the Tla’amin Wildlife and Migratory Birds Harvest Area (see attached map)
- Follow all applicable Tla’amin hunting laws, regulations and requirements
Interested in Participating?
Please register with:
Avi Sternberg, Community Food Program Coordinator
604-414-6935
Upon Mandatory Pre-Registration, you will be required to sign a Harvesting Agreement with further details.
The program will run until November 30, 2026, or until the community’s needs have been met, whichever comes first.
Thank you to all our hunters for helping support community food security, access to traditional foods, and the continued development of hunting and food-processing knowledge within our community.
