Tla’amin Nation (TN) has initiated the construction of a new, 10-unit, residential, housing project.  We are seeking Carpenters/Labourers and persons interested in developing their skills in the various construction trades.  Work will be performed alongside, and in coordination with, qualified tradespeople as well as an assortment of subcontractors.  All positions are two-year terms (hours are based on available work/skillsets).  This is a tremendous opportunity for persons interested in growing a career in the construction field!


  • Performs labour tasks involving all aspects of new construction
  • Working alongside plumbers, electricians, carpenters, drywallers, painters & other relevant tradespeople
  • Helps with construction of footings, foundations & concrete slabs
  • Assists with new residential framing
  • Helps with interior & exterior finish work
  • Maintains & inventories materials/tools used on job sites
  • Documents work as the jobs progress
  • Participates in safety and jobsite training & demonstrates the ability to apply what was learned
  • Participates in COVID-19 safety training/orientation
  • Learns & adheres to all TN’s policies (safety, Admin & Finance, Covid-19 practices, protocols)
  • Safely uses & maintains all power/hand tools – and other equipment
  • Strictly adheres to all WorkSafe regulations/safe work practices at all times
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager


  • Construction experience (or strong desire to learn) a definite asset
  • Trade certification/apprenticeship is an asset
  • Self-motivated & willing take direction from others
  • Able to work effectively alone or with minimal supervision
  • Reliable attendance and acceptance of shifts when offered
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Able to lift 30-40 lbs
  • Acceptable driver’s abstract & police information check
