COVID IN QATHET REGION

t̓išosəm – The Nation is aware that there is a rise of positive COVID cases in the qathet Region and understands how this could be concerning for Nation members. Tla’amin Health is working with other Nation departments, and Vancouver Coastal Health to actively monitor the situation.

“I know Nation members are worried about the high COVID numbers in the area, but the Nation’s staff are working hard to monitor the situation. We can all do our part by following the Provincial Health Officer’s restrictions, so that we can help protect our community” shared Hegus John Hackett.

“Following Provincial Health Orders is the best defence to protect yourself, your family and the community. With this variant being so highly transmissible, it is more important than ever that we take every measure to ensure to minimize the spread of this virus” said Health Director Marlane Christensen, encouraging everyone to review the health guidelines below.

The Nation would like to remind members to follow provincial health guidelines, found here https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/info/restrictions and to look out for each other by staying at home if they have symptoms and keep your bubble small. Self-testing is available for registration at https://www.prcovidinfo.com/ if you have any symptoms. If you are unwell and need to see a doctor, please go to the Emergency Department at the Powell River General Hospital.

The Nation will keep members updated. As always, please follow official sources for information such as the Nation’s Public and Private Facebook Pages, and the Nation’s website.
