
Notice is hereby given that the Tla’amin Nation has called an election for September 19, 2020, in accordance with the Tla’amin Nation Election Law (TNL 04/2016), for the purpose of eligible Voters electing the Office of Hegus (1 position) and Legislative Assembly (8 positions) for the ensuing term of the Legislature.
IMPORTANT ELECTION INFORMATION
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC THE TLA’AMIN NATION AND ONEFEATHER WILL BE MONITORING THE SITUATION WITH RESPECT TO ENSURING SAFETY PROTOCOLS AND BEST PRACTICES ARE IN PLACE WHEN CONDUCTING THE NOMINATION MEETING, ALL CANDIDATES MEETING AND POLLING EVENTS. ADDITIONAL NOTICES AND INSTRUCTIONS MAY BE POSTED IN ADVANCE OF THESE MEETINGS PROVIDING DETAILS AND INFORMATION ON HOW THESE MEETINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED AND EXPECTATIONS IN TERMS OF PROTECTIVE MEASURES NECESSARY TO ENSURE THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF THE COMMUNITY.
A separate NOMINATION MEETING NOTICE will be posted on or about July 9th 2020, and information and corresponding documentation will be available online at the OneFeather website (https://www.onefeather.ca/nations/tlaamin) and at the Tla’amin Nation website (https://www.tlaaminnation.com).
VOTERS are encouraged to review the Election Law and supporting regulations governing the electoral process. Please contact the Electoral Officer directly if you have any questions, require support or documentation at the coordinates located that the bottom of this Notice.
THE CERTIFIED VOTERS LIST will be posted for viewing on or about June 21, 2020 at Tla’amin Governance House, available online and directly from the Electoral Officer. Any requested changes or amendments to the Voters List must be communicated directly to the Electoral Officer.
All eligible voters will have the opportunity to vote in this election either in-person at a designated Poll, by mail or electronically.
