
To support the current and upcoming housing needs the Tla’amin Nation is seeking an exceptional candidate for the role of Housing Manager. This is a dynamic challenging position requiring a proficiency in administration, community engagement and planning.

This role includes, but is not limited to:
- General standard housing administration activities associated with social housing supporting Tla’amin law, policy and agreements;
- Corresponding with tenants on the daily tasks associated with housing and directing staff to respond as required;
- Ensuring housing records are documented, filed and organized for future reference;
- Working effectively and collaboratively across departments such as finance, health, social assistance, justice, and social work on complex housing situations;
- Participate in annual planning of short and long term resource requirements and department budgets;
- Preparing and submitting funding applications and proposals, for renovations, new construction, retrofits, mould remediation and other housing related funding as necessary;
- Generate and monitor work orders;
- Prepare purchase orders for materials and contractors required to maintain housing inventory;
- Develop short, medium and long-term housing plans;
- Collaborate across Nations to identify lessons learned and apply them at Tla’amin.
- Other duties as assigned;
Qualifications and Relevant Experience:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly indicate that you have relevant experience and education as outlined below:
- Specific experience working with First Nations;
- Must have excellent professional communications, organization and prioritization skills;
- Sound working knowledge and experience with:
- Property and rental management practices
- Dispute resolution
- Planning and budgeting
- By-law and other enforcement related to rental/property management
- Policy management
- Direct experience with Xyntax software is an asset;
- Direct experience working with CMHC, BC Housing, and other governmental organizations;
- Have a degree or certification or technical diploma;
- Experience working with various software’s and technology that assist management practices;
- Must undergo and submit a satisfactory criminal record check prior to employment;
