ʔəʔəms ʔayɛ (Our House) Cultural Centre is a gathering place for ceremonies, cultural gatherings, and community events and supports language revitalization, teaching, and learning.

ʔəms ʔayɛ includes a large Cultural Space with seating, a firepit, and audiovisual equipment, shared washrooms, and a commercial kitchen. ʔəms ʔayɛ opened for community bookings January 2026.

The building also houses the museum, which will open to the public in 2027, as well as a language lab and teaching space available by appointment.

Use of ʔəms ʔayɛ is guided by respectful conduct and approved use types.

Adult ɬaʔamɩn qayɛmɩxʷ (Tla’amin citizens) in good standing who have completed orientation and signed the booking agreement.

ʔəms ʔayɛ may be used for: Ceremonies and cultural gatherings, community meetings and workshops, and cultural teaching and learning activities. Functions including alcohol, and non-ceremonial uses are not permitted.

ʔəms ʔayɛ can accommodate up to 347 guests, however for flow and comfort we recommend no more than 250.

Once a booking request is approved:

  • A booking agreement will be issued
  • A refundable damage deposit is required
