What We Do

Tla’amin Nation’s Public Safety team is the first point of contact for many day-to-day safety concerns in the community.

We respond to issues, help prevent problems before they escalate, and work with community members to keep shared spaces safe and respectful.



Our Role

  • Respond to community concerns
    We take calls and respond to situations affecting safety in the community.
  • Address Tla’amin Law/ Regulation and community safety issues
    Including animals on the loose, vandalism, and unauthorized use of lands or resources.
  • Prevent issues before they escalate
    We work early to resolve concerns and reduce risk where possible.
  • Support safe use of Tla’amin Lands
    We help ensure lands and community spaces are used respectfully.
  • Provide public education
    We share information so people understand their responsibilities and available supports.


Common Reasons to Call Public Safety

  • Domestic animal control or roaming issues
  • Unauthorized use of Tla’amin lands or resources
  • Vandalism or damage to property
  • Unauthorized woodcutting
  • General health and safety concerns
