MEDIA RELEASE March 24, 2020

In consistency with the positions of Parks Canada, BC Parks, and Recreation Sites and Trails BC, Tla’amin Nation is closing the Dinner Rock campsite and Rieveley’s Pond Hut, effective immediately Any individuals currently occupying campsites will be permitted to stay for up to 48 hours, but must vacate by the afternoon of March 26th. These closures will remain in effect until further notice.

We encourage day hiking and recreating on our public lands, with the proviso that appropriate physical distancing is practiced and that gatherings are limited in accordance with orders of local, provincial and federal authorities.

Tla’amin is carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation. It is an evolving situation, and we will respond to changes based upon orders and advice from public health officials. It is imperative that we keep the health and safety of everyone a top priority.
