Special Projects Coordinator (Contract Position)
Tla’amin Management Services LP (TMS) is currently seeking a qualified and dynamic individual to fill the role of a Special Projects Coordinator on a contract basis, reporting directly to the CEO of TMS.
This position will focus on a potential upcoming commercial real estate acquisition and presents a unique opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to the success of this significant venture. The role requires a special emphasis on business development strategies, strong connections with local, provincial, and federal governments, and a solid understanding of the governance and administrative processes that govern TMS as an arms-length agency of Tla’amin Nation.
•Under the supervision of the CEO of TMS, coordinate and support project planning for site acquisition, rooted in community needs.
•Implement project budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and program accountability.
•Advance relationships with potential partners.
•Work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, participating in project committees and working groups.
•Develop project reports, briefing notes, and status updates.
•Maintain principles of ta’ow (ancestral teachings) through economic development.
•Undertake other duties as assigned.
Business Development Emphasis:
•Identify and evaluate business opportunities aligned with the potential commercial real estate acquisition, conducting market research to inform strategic decisions.
•Cultivate partnership opportunities with prospective site users, ensuring that there is alignment with Tla’amin Nation values.
•Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement business development strategies aligned with TMS’s overall objectives.
•Maintain and leverage strong connections with local, provincial, and federal government entities to support the goals of the acquisition.
Governance and Administrative Processes:
•Demonstrate a solid understanding of the governance and administrative processes that govern TMSLP as an arms-length agency of Tla’amin Nation.
•Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
•Navigate administrative structures effectively to streamline project processes.
Characteristics and Qualifications:
If you possess the following characteristics and qualifications, we want to hear from you:
•A professional designation, graduate degree, or equivalent accreditation, ideally related to economic development, public policy, commerce, or a similarly relevant discipline.
•A minimum of 2-3 years of project coordination experience.
•Project coordination/management training and demonstrated skills such as project planning, resource and financial management, communication, risk management, and problem-solving.
•Knowledge translation and/or government relations experience is an asset.
•Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
•Excellent time management and organization skills.
•Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders.
•Ability and confidence to work in a self-directed manner.
•Capacity to juggle multiple demands with varying deadlines.
